Teachers Set objectives Happy Learning Intentions Headings on the whiteboard Intentional teaching – has a purpose – learning intentions Relating positively Professional – relating appropriately Genuine interest in seeing kids learning Engaging with students Clarity of learning purpose Building on prior learning Engaging with students Group work and whole class activities Positive, happy, enjoying the job, enthusiastic Explaining / questioning individual – use appropriate questions – wait time Start – middle – end to lesson – summarizing Students Most children on-task – participating – smiling faces Happy and focused Engaged – on task, arguing their results – point of view. Good relationships – supportive of each other Engaged in the learning, enthused Expressing points of view Competent in what they are doing – confident in their ability to do set task Oragnised, attractive, workable classrooms, student friendly Student interaction Students know their learning outcomes Happy – caring for each other – learning from each other
